The 2nd Integrated Cattle Oil Palm Conference (ICOP)

 

The event was attended by 204 participants (84 women) consisting of government representatives, academics and practitioners. Also present were the Acting Governor of West Kalimantan, Counselor (Agriculture) of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries from the Australian Government, and Ministry of Agriculture, The Indonesian Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDKDS) and the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) West Kalimantan representatives.

Participants exchanged experiences, learning and ideas for the growth of the cattle-palm integration system known and SISKA. Plenary discussions were held with speakers from within and outside the country including GAPKI, BPDPKS, Tanjungpura University, Cattle-Oil Palm Integration Consultant from Malaysia, University of New England (UNE) Australia and Wageningen University - Netherlands. 35 paper titles were also presented by practitioners, researchers and the government. The conference is set to encourage the further expansion of SISKA throughout Indonesia through collaboration and communications on SISKA research.
